Hunting under water 5/2/15

It's that time of year again!  The dogwoods are blooming. The stripers are hungry ... and we had a full moon to HUNT UNDER WATER.  There's absolutely no other fish I would rather be hunting this time of year.  There's just something about the way these striped fintastic forms of fish attack a crankbait, jerkbait, etc.  Yes, this initial bite doesn't last long.  That's why you have to put in the time!  Results like these are well-worth all the hours spent on the water:

How many time do you see your lure vertical in a fishes mouth like this?  I'm guessing he came speeding up from the depths.  Especially since he was caught in 90 feet of water.  Just saying ...

And then there are the "INCIDENTALS" .....

Water temperatures ranged from 52 to 55 degrees this first week of May 2015.  We were able to land 16 stripers and 3 walleye.  Not bad for 6 hours of fishing. That's why you have to put the time in.  Can't wait for the fall bite to yield similar results.  Hopefully the summer will also offer a few successful stiper trips.
